Sharing Meals

Sharing Meals is a program that opened its doors in December 2009 at St. John United Church of Christ on Fifth Street in St. Charles. The members wanted to help feed the homeless and those in need in the St. Charles community. Each week over 30 individuals are served lunch and given a take home bag.

Today, with the collaborative help of Trinity Episcopal, Hope Lutheran, and Ridgecrest Baptist churches, lunch is provided each Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ in St. Charles. Hope is responsible for planning and preparing the meal on the 3rd Saturday of every month.

Volunteers are needed each month for planning the menu, shopping for supplies, preparing and serving the lunch, socializing and praying with those in attendance, and cleaning up after the meal. Donations of cash used for purchasing food supplies and small snacks to fill treat bags are greatly appreciated.

Please contact the Hope Lutheran church office (office@hopelutheranelca.org) if you would like to volunteer or make a donation.
